New Zealand Internships
YOUR CAREER. NO PASSPORT REQUIRED.
I had a great experience with Readygrad throughout my internship journey. They helped me connect with a relevant internship opportunity, handled communication and agreements with the host company, and provided clear guidance on the program requirements and expectations. The team was supportive, responsive, and professional throughout the process, making the transition into my internship smooth and stress-free. Thanks to Readygrad, I was able to gain valuable hands-on experience in both DevOps and Cybersecurity, which has been a great step forward in my career. I would highly recommend Readygrad to students looking for practical industry experience and professional support.

Work experience in Australia. Live in New Zealand.
You don't need to move to Australia to build real experience with an Australian company. The Professional Internship Program gives you 12 weeks working alongside an Australian host organisation, gaining genuine professional experience in your field. This is a professional development program, not a paid role. You're investing twelve weeks to build the industry experience employers ask for, and coming out with something concrete to show for it.
A Real Australian
Host Company
Not a simulation or a case study. Twelve weeks contributing to a real organisation, in your field, with real deliverables.
A Dedicated
Industry Mentor
You're guided throughout by someone working in your field — the kind of professional relationship that's hard to build from the outside.
Experience Employers Actually Recognise
Australian industry experience on your CV, plus a credential that proves it — the two things graduates most often can't show.
No Visa. No Flights.
No Relocation.
Build experience with an Australian company without leaving New Zealand. No paperwork, no moving costs, no disruption to your life.
Only 2–3 Hours
Ahead
Australian business hours line up almost perfectly with yours. Real-time collaboration, no midnight meetings, no lag.
14 Self-Paced Online Modules
More than a placement. You'll get access to Readygrad's online learning modules covering employability, communication and workplace skills, yours to work through at your own pace.
Professional Internship Program structure
The Professional Internship Program runs in two stages across approximately 16 weeks.
Stage 1: Preparation & Interviews (up to 12 weeks)
Before your placement begins, we get you ready. You'll meet your Placement Consultant online to talk through your background and career goals. Together you'll sharpen your CV, build your interview confidence, and work through our Internship Success Toolkit. Meanwhile, we're matching you to suitable host organisations and arranging interviews — all conducted remotely.
Stage 2: 12-Week Professional Internship Placement
Your placement is where theory becomes experience. You'll contribute to real projects and tasks relevant to your field, working remotely with your Australian host organisation and guided by an industry mentor.
Hours & Days
274–456 hours across the 12-week placement, 3–5 days per week during Australian business hours (typically only 2–3 hours ahead of New Zealand). The number of days depends on your background, experience and needs.
